Well I went into Long's Drug Store this weekend and what do you think I saw. Hallmark Christmas Orniments. Now as most of you know I absolutly LOVE Christmas. It is my most favorite time of the year. I decorate every room in the house including the bathrooms. Guests are welcomed to our house with lights and garlands. Every year I am on the lookout for new decorations but AUGUST. . . .come on the kids aren't even back in school yet.
I think I will wait a while before pulling out all the decorations and taking stock of what we have and what we still need. I'm just not READY for Christmas in August!!

We got our choir music for the Christmas cantata weeks ago and it is 105 degrees outside right now. Pretty strange if you ask me, but then again we are pretty bad so maybe we need all the time we can get.
Don't let Karyn tell you any different. If she could, she would celebrate Christmas all year right along with you! ;0
You can both have a LOT of my Christmas decorations. I use very few. If you want help decorating your homes, you can call on me. I just don't like doing it all alone.

You know, this is just one more sad bit of proof about the over-commercialization of Christmas (sorry, Karyn).
I mean, it's bad enough that Hallmark charges outrageous prices for their cards, AND that they have these evil Series of Ornaments, that rope you into buying a new ornament year after year, so as not to disrupt the series (sorry, Karyn).
But now, they're already shoving their wares at us?? What's next? Serving fruitcake along side hot dogs & potato salad at Fourth of July? Creches and nativity sets up at Mother's Day?? Oh won't someone PLEASE stop the madness!!!! (sorry, Karyn).
oops...
/gets off soapbox/
can't stay on there all day.
